S4 for Integrators

The financial platform, seen from the outside.

Integration note1 min readEditorial draft

In brief

  • S4 has six components; identity comes before holding, and holding before movement.
  • The APIs are your entry point, but understanding what sits behind them makes your integration last.
  • Treat the Ledger as the source of truth and handle finality correctly.

S4 — Sanaa Sanifu Secure Settlement — is the financial infrastructure that executes the S₵ Monetary Framework. For a platform considering integration, it is the part of the Sanaa Sanifu Economy you will touch most directly.

Its architecture has an upper tier and a lower tier. At the top sit S.I., which provides trusted identity; the Sanaa Wallet, which provides holding and financial participation; and the Ledger, the authoritative financial record. Beneath them sit Settlement, which provides movement and finality, and Treasury, which provides operational monetary execution. Settlement in turn exposes the APIs, which provide interoperability with connected platforms.

For integrators, the order is instructive. Identity comes before holding; holding comes before movement. A platform cannot settle value for a creator whose identity has not been established, and settlement is meaningful only because the Ledger records it authoritatively.

What an integrator needs to do with each component
ComponentProvidesYour integration should…
S.I.Trusted identityEstablish identity before anything else
Sanaa WalletHoldingShow balances accurately
LedgerThe recordReconcile against it regularly
SettlementMovement and finalityShow pending and settled honestly
TreasuryMonetary executionNot assume what it cannot see
APIsInteroperabilityRespect the rules beneath them

The APIs are your entry point, but they are not the whole system. Understanding what sits behind them will help you design flows that fail gracefully, handle finality correctly and present balances to users accurately.

S4 API documentation, SDKs and integration guides are published in the Developers collection. Partnership enquiries begin with the partnership form.
